Glucometer DEX – The Way We Were
The DEX blood glucose meter was my favorite and one of my first blood glucose meters. I used it till it died then got a DEX2, which I used till it, also died.
Then, they stopped making them.
In the late nineties when the Glucometer DEX was introduced it was ahead of its time. It looked futuristic in the mist of all the medical looking blood glucose meters. The disc-shaped Glucometer DEX housed a 10-test sensor cartridge, completely eliminating the need to fuss with individual test strips. When 10 tests are completed, I simply popped another cartridge into the meter.
I have been thinking about the Glucometer DEX lately just as one thinks about their first love. I miss that little meter and wish Bayer Diabetes Care will bring it back.
